Post NSS Personnel Base On Their CGPA Just Like How You Post BECE Candidates Base On Their Grades — Lady Appeals To NSS
A Ghanaian lady has sparked online discussion after proposing a new approach to how the National Service Authority assigns postings, suggesting the system should mirror school placement, sorting graduates into categories based on their academic performance rather than the current arrangement.
Speaking directly to camera, she laid out how such a system could work, that is, graduates with first-class honours would be placed with what she termed “grade A” companies, second-class holders with “grade B” companies, and so on down the line, following a structured tier system similar to how students are placed into schools based on their grades.
Under her proposal, those with third-class or pass honours would be posted to villages, while first and second-class graduates would be assigned to postings within the cities.
According to her, this kind of categorization would introduce a level of fairness currently missing from the process, rewarding academic performance with correspondingly favorable placements.
She went further, arguing that such a system could help curb nepotism, a persistent complaint among graduates who feel postings are too often influenced by personal connections rather than merit.
Her comments have stirred debate online, with reactions split between those who see the proposal as a reasonable push for meritocracy and others questioning whether reducing postings to CGPA alone accounts for the practical realities graduates face once deployed.
