Police arrests Shilla boys terrorizing Yola community

The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested five youths suspected of terrorising residents of Kofare community in Yola, the state capital.

The suspects, aged between 18 and 23, were allegedly linked to robbery attacks around the Kofare Masallaci Biyu axis in Yola South Local Government Area.

The suspects were arrested in the early hours of Tuesday, September 1, following intelligence received by the police in connection with a recent robbery incident in Kofare. The command said the arrests were carried out by a tactical team attached to the Kofare Divisional Police Headquarters, with the assistance of members of the community.

In a statement issued to journalists and signed by the command’s spokesperson, SP Suleiman Nguroje, the police identified the suspects as Nura Aliyu, 20; Abubakar Adamu, 21; Abubakar Muhammed, 23; Abdulhameed Yusuf, 18; and Yusuf Husseini, 20. The command said all five suspects are residents of Kofare.

Five cutlasses allegedly used in committing the robbery attacks were also recovered from the suspects, according to the police. The command said the suspects would be subjected to further investigation as efforts continue to establish their alleged involvement in the reported criminal activities.
