Plot To Destroy NDC Underway – Moses Paul Raises Alarm

A former chairmanship candidate of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Moses Paul, has alleged that the internal challenges currently facing the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) are the result of a coordinated effort by political opponents seeking to weaken the party ahead of future elections.

Speaking during an appearance on Arise Television’s Prime Time programme on Thursday, Paul claimed that certain individuals were deliberately attempting to create divisions within the party’s leadership structure and undermine its growing influence on the national political scene.

According to him, the objective of those behind the alleged scheme is to sow discord among key figures within the party, particularly the NDC’s National Leader, Seriake Dickson, the party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and vice-presidential candidate, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.

Paul rejected allegations suggesting that Obi played any role in influencing the selection or nomination of party candidates, insisting that such claims were false and intended to generate controversy within the party.

“The agenda is to bring the NDC to its knees. To the best of my knowledge, Peter Obi neither nominated nor influenced any of those candidates,” he stated.

The former AMAC chairmanship aspirant argued that the entry of prominent political figures such as Obi and Kwankwaso into the NDC has attracted heightened attention from rival political interests who now view the party as a significant force ahead of future elections.

According to him, those opposed to the party’s rise are employing various tactics aimed at creating confusion, mistrust and instability within its ranks.

“What is happening with the NDC following the arrival of Peter Obi and Kwankwaso is that some people are trying every possible means to create chaos and anarchy within the party,” Paul said.

He further alleged that efforts were being made to fracture the relationship among the party’s leading figures, whom he described as central to the NDC’s political project.

“They are attempting to create divisions among what I would call the three wise men of the party Peter Obi, Senator Kwankwaso and Senator Seriake Dickson,” he added.

Paul maintained that the alleged campaign was designed to weaken the party’s cohesion, reduce public confidence in its leadership and ultimately undermine its chances of success in future elections.

He said he decided to speak publicly about the matter in order to alert party members, supporters and the wider public to what he described as a deliberate effort to destabilise the NDC from within.

“I am making this known so that Nigerians and supporters of the party can understand the agenda. The goal is to ensure that this party, particularly because Peter Obi is part of it, is brought down completely,” he said.

His comments come amid ongoing debates and discussions surrounding developments within the NDC, as party leaders continue efforts to strengthen internal unity and prepare for the political contests ahead.

Despite concerns about internal disagreements, Paul expressed confidence that the party’s leadership would remain united and focused on its broader political objectives.
