Peter Obi, Kwankwaso’s Move To NDC Not Sudden – Dickson

National Leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Seriake Dickson, has said the movement of Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso into the party did not happen overnight.

Naija News reports that Dickson stated this on Wednesday while speaking on Arise Television’s Prime Time.

He said he had a long-standing political relationship with both men, having worked with them as former governors.

Obi and Kwankwaso defected from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to the NDC early last month, citing internal divisions and court cases in their former party.

Both former governors have since emerged as the NDC presidential and vice-presidential candidates, respectively, ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Dickson said, “We also brought together Peter Obi and Kwankwaso, two of the country’s most influential political figures, onto our platform.

“These are people I have worked with for a long time, so this convergence within the NDC did not happen overnight.”

Dickson said the NDC had continued to attract strong membership and support from notable political figures.

He added that many Nigerians had shown trust and confidence in the young party.

Dickson stated, “We have been able to attract strong membership and earn the trust of my colleagues, including former governors and other distinguished Nigerian political leaders.

“Many Nigerians believe in us, and I want to thank them for their trust, confidence, and continued support.”
