Pastor sparks buzz, claims men who take money from women are failures

A Nigerian pastor has stirred massive reactions after making a strong statement about men who depend financially on women, describing such behaviour as a sign of failure.

The cleric, in a viral video, criticised men who rely on women for survival, stressing that men should be providers and not place financial expectations on women.

In his words, he said:

“Any man that takes money from a woman is a sign of failure; they should bring your mother and father here to give them five strokes of cane because they are failures for raising you like that.”

He went further to condemn men who question what women contribute financially to their lives, insisting that a woman’s role is not to provide money but to show respect and remain faithful.

The pastor also shared a personal example, revealing that even someone close to him exhibits such behaviour, which he strongly disapproves of.

“Don’t expect money from women. I have one of my sons that is always expecting money from women, women that will pay rent and buy food for them. A woman put you inside her car, are you not ashamed? After today, if you are like that, go and die, just go and die,” he added.

Many social media users have reacted to the statement, with some agreeing with the pastor’s stance on men being providers, while others criticised the harsh tone and questioned the idea that women have nothing to contribute financially in relationships.

The comment has continued to spark conversations online about gender roles, financial responsibility, and evolving expectations in modern relationships.
