Oyo: Nigerian Army Said Abduction In Oyo Is Linked To B’Haram, Then It’ll Be Sadiku Group-Bukarti

Lawyer and security consultant Bulama Bukarti has linked the recent abduction in Oyo State to a Boko Haram faction known as the Sadiku Group, led by Abubakar Saidu following the Nigerian Army’s assertion that the attack was carried out by members of the terrorist organization.

Bukarti made the claim during an interview on Channels Television, where he on Wednesday, 3 June, 2026, while reacting to a statement from the Nigerian Army Headquarters that connected the Oyo abduction and other recent attacks to Boko Haram activities. The disclosure has heightened concerns over the spread of insurgent operations beyond the North-East, where the group has traditionally maintained its strongest presence.

Addressing the development, Bukarti said available information points to a specific Boko Haram faction that has operated outside the North-East for years.

“The Nigerian Army headquarters has said that this abduction in Oyo State is linked to Boko Haram. If it’s Boko Haram that’s responsible, then my theory or informed analysis is that it will be the Sadiku group,” he said.

The security expert explained that the Sadiku Group is believed to be one of the Boko Haram cells that expanded into parts of North-Central Nigeria and surrounding regions.
