According to a report by Daily Post published on Saturday, June 27, 2026, Rev. Dr. Okechukwu Christopher Obioha, the Leader of the Njiko Igbo Forum, has warned that Nigeria’s 2027 general election could face serious challenges if former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi is prevented from appearing on the ballot.
Obioha said his concerns were driven by rising political tensions and what he described as a growing decline in public confidence in Nigeria’s electoral and judicial systems.
He argued that any move perceived as excluding Obi from the presidential race could further deepen political uncertainty and erode trust in the country’s democratic institutions.
