Okonkwo: The More You Attack Obi, You’re Self-cannibalizing And Equipping APC With A Weapon- Udenta
Prof. Udenta O. Udenta, founding National Secretary of the Alliance for Democracy, has cautioned against attacks on Peter Obi, warning that such actions could weaken the opposition and ultimately strengthen the ruling All Progressives Congress in the political landscape ahead of future contests.
Speaking during an interview on Symfoni TV, Udenta reacted to recent remarks by ADC chieftain Kenneth Okonkwo and argued that persistent criticism of Obi and the Nigeria Democratic Congress would amount to internal sabotage that could hand political advantage to the APC.
“So, the more you attack Peter Obi, you attack NDC; you are self-cannibalizing, and you are equipping the APC with a weapon.”
Udenta maintained that opposition figures and political stakeholders should focus on building alliances and consolidating support rather than engaging in divisive rhetoric that could undermine efforts aimed at presenting a formidable alternative to the ruling party.
He stressed that disagreements within opposition ranks should be managed carefully and urged political actors to pursue cooperation and strategic engagement, noting that unity among like-minded groups remains essential to strengthening democratic competition and advancing shared political objectives.
