Okonkwo Dismisses Peter Obi, Says Focus Is on 2027 Political Contenders

A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, Kenneth Okonkwo, has described former Anambra State governor Peter Obi as inconsequential regardless of what he does with his life.

Okonkwo made the remark during an interview on a television programme on Thursday.

Asked about his ultimate stance on Obi, the Nollywood veteran-turned-politician said his focus was on discussing genuine contenders for 2027 rather than what he called pretenders.

He said that having just been appointed spokesperson for Atiku Abubakar, he considered Obi inconsequential to whatever he was doing and preferred to move on to more pressing issues.

Adding that he wanted to focus on real contenders for 2027 rather than pretenders, and questioned the point of further attacking someone he considered already politically diminished.

An online news platform recalls that Atiku, the ADC’s presidential candidate for the 2027 general elections, appointed Okonkwo as his spokesperson on Thursday.
