Nigerian singer Sola Allyson mourns

Nigerian gospel singer, Sola Allyson, has mourned the death of a close friend, sharing an emotional tribute after attending the person’s burial.

The 54-year-old singer, known for her hit song Iri, shared a video from the burial ceremony on X, although she did not disclose the identity of the deceased.

In her tribute, Allyson described the deceased as a gentle, strong and authentic person whose life inspired many people around him.

She wrote, “Hmmmm! So, your own sojourn here for this time has finished náà nìyẹn? Ha. But I thought it would be for a longer time nàó?!”

The singer recalled meeting the deceased in 2017, saying she immediately recognised the kind of person he was and described their connection as one built on shared values and faith.

According to Allyson, the deceased lived an authentic life guided by purity, humility and a commitment to doing what was right.

“Oh, you were AUTHENTIC! And that was the glue to you of me,” she wrote.

She also praised the family left behind, describing the burial ceremony as a reflection of the life the deceased lived.

Allyson said she was moved by the way his children supported their mother during the emotional moment, noting the love and unity displayed by the family.

“The kind of family you built. The way your Sons Sola and Yinka held your Wife. The way your Daughter Bukola was trying very hard not to break down and still stretched her hands to hold your Wife. What a family!” she wrote.

Sola Allyson also thanked the deceased for his impact on others, saying she heard stories of the lives he touched and the help he offered people during his lifetime.

“You helped a lot of souls in their own journeys! Thank you! Well done! You did well!” she added.

Allyson concluded the tribute with prayers, describing him as a person of truth and expressing hope that they would meet again.

“Ọ̀rẹ́ miiii! Eniyan pàtàkì! Ó d’àárọ̀! Àá pàdé! T’ó bá yá…” she wrote.
