In a video shared by News Central TV on Saturday, June 20, 2026, Audu Lankai, a prominent bandit kingpin in Katsina state, has weighed in on the broken peace deal with the Jibia local government area of Katsina state.

Recently, the president of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has charged the Nigerian Army as well as other security agencies to employ new strategies in tackling insecurity across the country.

However, in the video, the bandits’ kingpin, Audu Lankai, recalled how members of his group were attacked by vigilantes in the Jibia local government area of Katsina state despite the peace pact brokered between both parties.

He revealed that some members of his group lost their lives as a result of this altercation, and fifteen vigilantes were also murdered.

In his words, “My boys were killed without committing any crime. I am fully aware that my boys killed fifteen persons.”
