2004: Abdulkareem Told Me 50 Cent Wanted To Kill Him, I Landed At The Airport With 4000 Okadas -Oputa

Charles Oputa, a musician and actor popularly known as Charly Boy, has spoken about an altercation that occurred between Nigerian artist Eedris Abdulkareem and American rapper 50 Cent at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in 2004

In an interview with Echoo Room, Oputa said he was in a barbing salon in Ikeja when Abdulkareem called him and claimed that 50 Cent and his associates wanted to kill him at the airport. He stated that he immediately mobilized more than 4,000 commercial motorcycle riders and headed to the airport.

Oputa said when they arrived at the airport he immediately confronted 50 Cent over the attack on Abdulkareem. He said 50 Cent was preparing to travel to Port Harcourt for a performance, but after the confrontation, the rapper abandoned the trip and flew back to the United States instead.

In Oputa’s words: “Abdulkareem called me and said 50 Cent and his people wanted to kill him. I landed there at the airport with more than 4000 okadas, I took over the whole airport”
