Man sends his wife packing because of iPhone

A Nigerian man has sparked conversations online after narrating how an iPhone allegedly became the reason a young couple’s marriage fell apart for months.

The story, shared on X (formerly Twitter), detailed how a man reportedly sent his wife out of their home after a disagreement that started when her iPhone got damaged.

According to the narrator, the husband had gifted the woman the iPhone during their engagement party. However, two years into their marriage, the couple reportedly began facing financial difficulties.

He explained that the incident happened on a Sunday morning while the couple were preparing for church.

During a Snapchat video recording, the phone allegedly slipped from a two-storey building and shattered completely.

The narrator claimed the woman unexpectedly refused to accompany her husband to church after the accident, leaving him surprised by her reaction.

He further stated that the husband attempted to resolve the situation peacefully by buying her an Android phone the next day so she could at least stay connected while they planned for a replacement device.

However, the woman allegedly rejected the Android phone and reportedly kept her line switched off afterwards.

According to the post, the situation escalated when the husband experienced an emergency at work and could not reach his wife because her phone remained unreachable.

The narrator said the man returned home angrily after work and decided to send his wife packing despite her repeated pleas for forgiveness.

He added that the couple have remained separated for seven months since the incident.

Sharing the story online, the X user wrote:

“My guy sent his wife packing because of iPhone.

He bought the iPhone for her on the day of her engagement party. Two years after their wedding, things got a bit rough for them.

So one sunday, while they were dressed for church, they decided to make a Snapchat video with her phone. Unfortunately, the phone fell from the two storey building and shattered. Surprisingly, she refused to follow him to church that day.

The next day, he bought her an android phone for her, at least to be managing, but she rejected it. The young man still maintained his cool.

The following day at work, he had an emergency at work and needed to communicate with his wife on the phone. He tried his luck, perhaps she changed her mind, but her line was still switched off.

At the close of work, he rushed back home with anger and sent her packing. She begged and begged but his mind was made up already.

It’s been 7 months and counting, but they’re still apart. So if someone should ask her why she’s not in her husband’s house, she’d say it’s because of iPhone?”
