Man accused of defiling 9-year-old girl who visited him to beg for food in Umuahia

A man has been arrested following accusations that he defiled a 9-year-old girl who visited him to beg for food. 
Mr Ikechukwu Emmanuel, from Amaegbuato, Nkpa, Bende LGA, Abia State, allegedly defiled the little girl in Umuana Ndume, Umuahia North Abia State. 
This was disclosed by Ochiegbu Marvellous of Behind Bars Human Rights Foundation, Abia State Chapter. 
Ochiegbu claims that the accused admitted to him that he defiled the girl on August 16, 2026. 
He added: “On 18th August 2026, youths of Umuana reportedly caught him. 
“According to the account, he refused to open his door and allegedly threw the little girl out through the window.” 
Ochiegbu continued: “But there is one thing he said that has continued to disturb my heart. 
“He claimed that the little girl usually came to him because she was hungry and he would give her food.” 
Ochiegbu thanked the Abia State Police Command “for their prompt intervention” in the case and called for an end to child s£xual violence.
