Lady Gaga’s baby name, gender revealed

A birth certificate reportedly obtained by TMZ has revealed the name of Lady Gaga and her fiancé Michael Polansky’s daughter as Rose Bean Polansky, a name with a connection to the singer’s late grandmother.

The child’s first name, Rose, was also one of the names of Gaga’s maternal grandmother, Veronica Rose ‘Ronnie’ Ferrie Bissett. The report did not include confirmation from the couple that the choice was a tribute to her.

According to the document, the baby was born on June 9 at 11.19pm at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

Dr Robert Katz, who also delivered singer Ciara and Russell Wilson’s daughter, Sienna Princess, delivered the child.

The details emerged after Page Six broke news of the birth last week and published photographs of Gaga and Polansky with their daughter.

Rose also features in another personal connection for the singer, who has “La Vie En Rose”, a song she performed in A Star Is Born, tattooed down her spine.

Gaga, whose real name is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, had previously spoken about her hopes of becoming a mother.

Appearing on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert last October, she described motherhood as her hoped-for “next starring role”.

“But, what I really want is to be a mom. That’s my next starring role, I hope,” she said.

In an interview with The New York Times in March 2025, Gaga said she was “excited to be a mom”, despite previously having apprehensions about motherhood.

“I’m also kind of at war with myself sometimes as I get ready to, hopefully, become a mom soon,” she said. “Like, today is wonderful, but the whole day has revolved around me. There’s an incredible amount of narcissism in this.”

An unnamed source quoted by the Daily Mail said the singer hoped to have several children.

“She has only one sister, Natali, and always wanted more siblings. So she wants her children to have many siblings so they can all lean on each other,” the source said.

Gaga and Polansky have been together since 2019 and became engaged in April 2024, when he proposed during a rock-climbing outing.

The couple have not announced a wedding date, although Gaga said in March that they planned to marry soon.

“Me and my fiancé have been traveling all year, but we’re getting married soon. We were hoping you could choose a special song for us,” she said in a recorded message during Bruno Mars’s Romantic Radio TikTok Live.
