According to a report by Daily Post on Saturday, July 18, 2026, Mohammed Umaru Bago, Governor of Niger State, has said that he will not launch any probe into the activities of his predecessor, former Governor Abubakar Sani Bello, even though he claims to have documents that point to alleged wrongdoing during the previous administration.
He said his decision was guided by the need to preserve peace rather than reopen political battles that could deepen tension in the state.
