I’ll Never Tell My Man My Salary, I Don’t Want To Know His Either – Nancy Isime
Nollywood actress Nancy Isime has revealed that she keeps financial matters private in her relationships and does not believe couples must disclose their earnings to each other.
Speaking during an appearance on a podcast with media personality Prince Ita, the actress said discussions about personal income are completely off the table for her.
According to her, she has no interest in telling a partner how much she earns and also does not expect him to reveal his own income to her.
Isime explained that she values privacy and believes some personal matters should remain within individual boundaries.
She said knowing how much a partner makes is not something she considers necessary in a relationship, just as she does not see any reason to share details of her own earnings.
She said: “I never discuss three things: my money, my money, my money. Tell a man how much I earn, never, for what. And I don’t want him to discuss his with me either. I don’t want to know how much he is earning. I have no problem with him going through my phone but for what. I would never ask to check my man’s phone. You know when young girls used to sit down and daydream about getting married, I never did.
“I used to daydream about working and making my own money and being independent. I fear that I might not even have my dream wedding because what is a dream wedding? Even if I get married, it would just be a wedding that we both agree on at the same time. If it is a big wedding, if we feel it, it’s fine. If it is a small wedding, whatever we feel.”
