I Never Knew It Was This Hard to Get Married. I’m Sorry for Age-Shaming You – Lady Apologizes to Her Unmarried Sisters as She Turns 30 and Remains Single

A lady has gone viral on social media after publicly apologizing to women she once mocked for being in their 30s and 40s without getting married.

In a video shared online, the woman admitted that while growing up, she used to age-shame and marriage-shame older women, believing that anyone in their 30s who was still unmarried had failed in life.

However, she revealed that now that she has reached a similar age and is still unmarried, she has come to understand the challenges many people face when it comes to relationships and marriage.

In the emotional apology video, she said:

“This is an apology video. I want to apologise to some set of people. I want to apologise to all my big sisters, all those people that I knew as big sisters when I was growing up.”

“I’m always like, ‘Oh, you’re 30 and you’re not married, what are you doing with your life? You’re 40 and you’re not married, what are you doing with your life?’”

“I’m around your age now. Yes, I’m not married. And now, I’m just getting to know why you’re not married.”

“I am saying sorry. I used to marry-shame you that time. I am saying sorry because me like this, I’m not in a relationship, not to talk of wanting to get married.”

“I never knew. I did not know that it’s hard to get married. I did not know. I am sorry.”
