“I Can’t Forget This in a Hurry” – Pastor Shares Emotional Photos After Surviving Days in Kidnappers’ Den

An Edo-based pastor, Caleb Adavize Philip, has recounted the traumatic experience he and his family endured after being abducted by kidnappers who reportedly demanded ₦50 million for their release.

The cleric revealed that he was kidnapped alongside his wife and sister and held captive for several days while negotiations for their freedom took place.

In a Facebook post shared on Thursday, June 11, 2026, Philip posted photographs showing himself, his wife, and his sister receiving medical treatment in a hospital following their release. The images highlighted the physical and emotional toll of the ordeal.

Reflecting on the experience, the pastor described the days spent in captivity as a period of fear, emotional distress, and suffering.

“I can’t forget this in a hurry, how we were kidnapped, myself, wife and sis for days and they were demanding for 50 million naira,” he wrote.

Expressing the depth of the trauma, Philip said kidnapping was an experience he would never wish on anyone, including his enemies.

“The worst prayer you could pray for your enemies is for them to be kidnapped, yes, that’s the highest,” he stated.

He concluded his message with a prayer for the country, saying, “Lord save our nation. Thank you Jesus for our life.”
