Headmistress Beats 7-Year-Old KG2 Pupil Across Classrooms, Dislocates Arm Over GH¢120 Theft He Did Not Commit

A heartbroken father has recounted a harrowing ordeal involving his seven-year-old son, who was allegedly subjected to severe corporal punishment by the headmistress of Appiadu R/C Primary School in the Oforikrom Municipal Assembly.

The distraught parent appeared on Auntie Naa’s popular radio programme, Oyerepa Afutuo, to share the disturbing account of how Mrs. Georgina Boahen, headmistress of the school, allegedly took his KG2 son from his classroom and beat him progressively from class to class, all the way to the JHS 1 level.

According to the father, the punishment was triggered by an accusation that the young boy had stolen GH¢120. He alleged that the headmistress not only beat the child repeatedly but also stomped on him in the process, an act that reportedly resulted in the dislocation of the boy’s arm.

What makes the incident particularly distressing, the father explained, is that his son was entirely innocent. The actual culprit allegedly came forward after the incident and confessed to taking the money, meaning the child endured the brutal ordeal for a crime he did not commit.

The father’s emotional account has sparked widespread public outrage, with many calling for immediate action against the headmistress and a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

As of the time of filing this report, neither the Ghana Education Service nor the Oforikrom Municipal Assembly had issued an official statement on the matter. Investigations are expected to follow.
