Gunmen kill motorpark worker in Edo

The Edo State Command of the Nigeria Police has confirmed the killing of a motor park worker identified simply as Jogodo.
The victim who was said to be a member of a cult group, was killed Monday morning in Auchi, Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State, by yet to be identified gunmen.
The latest killing occurred less than 72 hours after another man, identified simply as Happy, was reportedly shot dead around Ugbihoko, a suburb community of Benin City.
It was gathered that Jogodo’s attackers who drove in a black Lexus RX C350, opened fire on him before fleeing the scene.
The motive behind the attack could however not be immediately ascertained as of the time of filing this report.
On his part, Happy was said to be returning home from work when his assistants accosted him.
A witness, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said: “While his wife was opening the gate to their residence, the attackers, who ha laid ambush for him, emerged and shot him at close range before escaping.
”The victim was rushed to a hospital but later died from the gunshot wounds,” the witness added.
Edo Police Command Spokesperson, Eno Ikoedem, said three suspects have been arrested in connection with the Auchi incident.
“We have three suspect in custody, which the Commissioner of Police, Monday Agbonika has ordered for the transfer of the suspects to Criminal Investigation Department (CID) at the Command’s headquarters,” she added.
She said the park has been temporary sealed off since it is a murder case till further notice.
Ikoedem who disclosed that preliminary investigations revealed that the issue was over the control of the park, added that it was sealed off to prevent further bloodshed.
