Full List: Nnamdi Kanu Reshuffles IPOB Leadership, Names New DOS Chief

The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has announced the dissolution of the movement’s third Directorate of State administration and the inauguration of a new leadership structure.

Naija News understands that Kanu disclosed this in a statement he personally signed on Wednesday, saying the reorganisation was aimed at strengthening the movement’s internal coordination and administrative efficiency.

According to him, the decision was taken under the authority vested in him as the organisation’s leader.

“I hereby dissolve the 3rd Administration of the Directorate of State (DOS) and inaugurate the 4th Administration with immediate effect,” Kanu stated.

He said the new administration would immediately assume responsibility for the coordination, management and day-to-day affairs of the movement.

As part of the restructuring, Kanu appointed United States-based Mazi Chris Nwaọgụ as the new Head of the Directorate of State.

“Pursuant to the authority vested in me as Supreme Leader, I have appointed Mazi Chris Nwaọgụ, based in the United States of America, as the new Head of the Directorate of State,” he said.

Kanu explained that the appointment followed what he described as a careful assessment of the outgoing administration and the need to improve organisational effectiveness.

The IPOB leader said the dissolved administration failed to meet expectations in several critical areas, including internal cohesion, communication management and the welfare of detained members.

“Any administration entrusted with IPOB affairs must protect the movement, defend its integrity, and advance its strategic goals,” he said.

According to him, “The abandonment of detained members and internal distractions weakened the effectiveness of the movement at a critical time.”

Kanu also announced the establishment of an Elders Advisory Council to provide strategic guidance and institutional support to the newly inaugurated leadership.

He described the restructuring as a necessary step towards organisational renewal, discipline and unity within the movement.

Kanu directed all IPOB structures across the world to recognise the new administration and cooperate fully with its leadership.

He said the changes were designed to refocus the organisation on its objectives of self-determination, justice and internal restructuring.

Among those appointed into the new administration are Mazi Solomon Egbo as Deputy Head of the Directorate of State; Nwada Ogwu Nnennaya Anya I as Head of Finance and Budget Planning; Mazi Chigozie Okekenta as Coordinator of Coordinators; and Dr Chukwudi Nwogwugwu as Head of Medical and Welfare Planning.

Others include Barrister Ikechukwu Onuoha as Head of Media and Comrade Emma Powerful as Spokesperson and Media/Publicity Secretary.

Kanu also named continental representatives for Africa, North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East, alongside national coordinators and deputy coordinators for several countries, including Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Canada and Israel.
