“For those saying I should be arrested, I have never collected a dime from TMT” — Comedian Apama breaks silence after visa agent’s arrest

Comedian Apama has broken his silence following the arrest of Ifeanyi Onukwubiro over allegations of scamming more than 200 Nigerians through visa-related transactions.

Reacting to calls from some people who suggested that he should also be arrested, Apama distanced himself from Ifeanyi Onukwubiro and denied having any business relationship with him.

According to the comedian, he has never collected money from Ifeanyi, is not his ambassador and has never had any visa processed by him.

“For those saying I should be arrested, I have never collected a dime from TMT. I’m not his ambassador, and he has never processed any visa for me,” Apama said.

Ifeanyi’s arrest reportedly followed complaints from several individuals who accused him of collecting millions of naira from them with promises of helping them secure visas and relocate abroad.

During the investigation, some alleged victims shared emotional accounts of how they reportedly paid millions of naira to Ifeanyi Onukwubiro for visa and relocation services.

One man claimed he took out a ₦4 million loan to fund his relocation plans and has since accumulated more than ₦6 million in loan interest.

Another alleged victim claimed he paid ₦3 million towards travelling to Switzerland, while a woman who said she was living in Libya alleged that she paid ₦3 million for assistance with securing admission and relocating to Sweden.
