Brighton sign Nigerian winger Femi Azeez on four-year deal
Super Eagles winger Femi Azeez has completed a move from Millwall to Brighton and Hove Albion FC after penning a four-year contract for an undisclosed fee.
The transfer was completed after both clubs submitted a deal sheet ahead of the 11 pm deadline.
The club’s sporting director, Mike Cave, expressed delight at the arrival of the Nigerian winger, describing him as one of the Championship’s most exciting attacking talents.
“We are delighted to add Femi to the squad. He arrives off the back of an excellent season with Millwall, having played a key role for them as they finished in the playoffs.
“He was one of the most exciting attacking talents in the Championship, and we’re delighted to have finally agreed his transfer, and we’re now looking forward to working with him,” Cave said.
Azeez, who is just 25, made 77 appearances for Millwall, scoring 15 goals and providing 13 assists during his time at the club.
His move to the Premier League marks the latest step in an impressive rise through the English football divisions.
