Family in Agony as Abductors of Adelabu’s Sister and Twin Sons Remain Silent 24 Hours After Abduction

More than 24 hours after the abduction of the sister of a former Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, alongside her twin sons in Ibadan, Oyo State, the family says there has been no contact or ransom demand from the abductors.

An aide to the family, Femi Awogboro, disclosed this on Tuesday, noting that the family remains in distress as they continue to wait for any form of communication from those responsible for the kidnapping.

According to him, the silence from the abductors has heightened anxiety within the family, as efforts continue to secure the safe release of the victims.

“The family has not heard anything from the abductors since the incident. More than 24 hours now, no contact, no demand has been made so far,” Awogboro said.

The victims, identified as Mrs. Olayide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul, aged 43, and her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul, were reportedly abducted by armed men while they were on their way to drop the children at school in Ibadan.

Awogboro said security agencies have intensified efforts to trace the whereabouts of the victims and ensure their safe return, adding that the family is hopeful despite the absence of communication from the abductors.

He explained that all relevant security channels have been activated, with operatives working to track the movement of the kidnappers and rescue the victims unharmed.

The aide also urged residents to remain calm and vigilant, while appealing for sustained efforts from security operatives to secure the release of the abducted family members.

He expressed confidence that the victims would be rescued safely, stressing that the family is relying on ongoing operations to bring them home.
