Ex-Convict Arrested In Ashaiman For Soldier Impersonation

An ex-convict has reportedly been arrested in Ashaiman for allegedly impersonating a soldier.

The suspect is said to have been apprehended after allegedly presenting himself as a member of the Ghana Armed Forces.

He is currently being held at the Ashaiman District Police Station, where he is assisting investigators with inquiries into the matter.

A photo circulating online shows the suspect dressed in military-style camouflage clothing and wearing dark sunglasses.

The image has since drawn attention to the arrest and the growing concern over civilians allegedly posing as security personnel.

It remains unclear where the suspect was arrested, how long he had allegedly been impersonating a soldier or whether he used the identity to gain access to restricted places or deceive members of the public.

Police investigations are expected to establish the circumstances surrounding the alleged impersonation and determine whether additional offences may have been committed.

The suspect’s previous criminal record has also been mentioned in reports, although details of his earlier conviction have not been independently confirmed.

The Ghana Police Service are yet to disclose further information about the case, including the exact charges that may be brought against him.
