The clarification came against the backdrop of heightened regional tensions after the United Arab Emirates confirmed earlier in the day that its air defence systems had intercepted two drones launched from Iran. Since the outbreak of the regional conflict on February 28, UAE authorities say the country has faced hundreds of aerial threats, including ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and drones. Official figures released by the ministry claim that 551 ballistic missiles, 29 cruise missiles and 2,265 drones have been intercepted during the conflict period.
