Imam Umar Yusuf, Chairman of the Council of Imams in Maraban Jos, Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State, has recounted the events leading to the death of Ummulkhairi Usman, an Islamiyya school teacher who was burnt to death by a mob after being wrongly accused of child theft.

According to a report by Daily Trust on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, Yusuf said the deceased was not only a teacher but also his former student, adding that she had left her home to attend a preaching session he was holding at another Islamiyya school in Old Maraban Jos.

He explained that Ummulkhairi Usman was unfamiliar with the exact location of the venue and had stopped along the way to ask some children for directions.......>>
