According to a report by Daily Post published on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, Rabiu Kwankwaso, the vice-presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), said political leaders in Northern Nigeria have chosen the path of reconciliation with the South-East and are committed to strengthening ties in the interest of national unity.
Kwankwaso made the remarks during an interview with BBC Igbo, where he underscored the importance of fostering closer cooperation among Nigeria’s regions to promote peace and national development.
Reflecting on the country’s political history, the former Kano State governor said the period following the Nigerian Civil War demonstrated that leaders from different regions could put past disagreements behind them and work together for the common good.Get The Full Story Here.
