Bono Region Tourism Authority Shuts Down Unlicensed Hotel Used By Slay Queens To Sell Their ‘HoneyPots’

The Director of the Ghana Tourism Authority for the Bono Region led a raid on a hotel allegedly being used as a hub for prostitution, shutting it down on the spot for operating without a valid license.

Arriving at the scene alongside police officers, reporters, and members of his team, the director wasted no time confronting the property owner after knocking and gaining entry.

What they found inside told its own story: a converted residential house repurposed into a makeshift hotel, its rooms cramped, poorly ventilated, and lacking even basic decoration befitting a licensed hospitality facility.

During the inspection, the team came across one of the women reportedly working at the location, found lying comfortably in one of the rooms. She was immediately asked to leave the premises as officials proceeded with the closure.

The operation forms part of ongoing efforts by the Tourism Authority to crack down on unlicensed and unregulated accommodation facilities operating across the region, many of which have increasingly come under scrutiny for doubling as venues for illicit activities under the guise of running a hotel business.
