According to a report by Punch News, on Sunday, June 6, 2026, former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, revealed that several influential figures within the political space, including governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, have contacted him following his resignation from the African Democratic Congress.
Lawal made the disclosure during an interview with Sunday PUNCH, shortly after leaving the ADC over claims that the party’s presidential primary process was allegedly manipulated in favour of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
Speaking on the reactions that followed his departure, the former SGF stated that he had received numerous calls from political stakeholders across the country.
