'As Long As I'm Prime Minister Of Israel, Iran Will Not Have Nuclear Weapons': Netanyahu Pledges

Palestine: Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Friday pledged that as long as he is the PM Of Israel, Iran will not have nuclear weapons, emphasising that his policy is in full alignment with that of US President Donald Trump.

“President Trump and I are in full agreement on this issue,” the Prime Minister said, adding, “For over 30 years, I have been at the forefront of the international struggle against Iran’s nuclear program. Were it not for this struggle, Iran would have long ago possessed atomic bombs to destroy Israel. Iran is working to destroy the Jewish state, and I am dedicating my life to preventing them from doing so.”

This comes as Washington and Tehran are in talks to reach an agreement to end the ongoing war in the Middle East.

Speaking at the White House on Thursday, US President Donald Trump said, “We just made a great settlement of the war with Iran, and we’re going to be subject to finalisation of documents, which should get done over the next few days…We have a deal that Iran will never have a nuclear weapon, which was the whole purpose of what we had to go through to get this.”

Meanwhile, Iran Foreign Abbas Araghchi tweeted that the US-Iran deal has “never been closer”. The tweet was reposted by Trump.

According to reports, the memorandum would immediately reopen the Strait of Hormuz without tolls, extend the ceasefire (including in Lebanon) by 60 days, and grant Iran phased sanctions relief tied to compliance.
