Arrest warrant against ABC Transport founder’s daughter stands – Court

The Federal High Court in Abuja has dismissed an application by Ihuoma Julia Nneji seeking to overturn a warrant of arrest earlier issued against her.

In a ruling delivered on Monday, Justice M.G. Umar held that the application lacked merit and declined to interfere with the powers of the Nigeria Police Force to carry out its statutory responsibilities.

The warrant was issued in suit number FHC/ABJ/CR/627/25 following a request by the Inspector General of Police.

Ms Nneji, daughter of ABC Transport founder Chief Frank Nneji, had asked the court to set aside the order. However, the judge ruled against her and dismissed the application in its entirety.

The police had declared Ms Nneji wanted on 16 April 2025 over allegations of criminal defamation, injurious falsehood and cyberstalking involving Abuja-based lawyer, Henry Uzochukwu.

With the latest ruling, the arrest warrant remains in force, leaving law enforcement authorities free to apprehend her wherever she is found in connection with the pending allegations.

The court’s decision means Ms Nneji remains subject to the subsisting arrest order unless it is set aside by a higher court or otherwise discharged through legal processes.
