APC Chairman Reportedly Kidnapped After Praising Tinubu’s Administration

An All Progressives Congress (APC) chairman in Kebbi State has reportedly been abducted shortly after publicly commending President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration for what he described as improvements in governance and national conditions.

The incident, which surfaced in a video circulating on social media platform X, has generated widespread reactions and renewed conversations about Nigeria’s persistent security challenges.

In the footage, the party official was seen speaking in support of the federal government, insisting that the country had experienced notable progress under the current administration. However, reports later emerged that he was kidnapped shortly after making the comments.

The development has since sparked controversy online, with critics pointing to the incident as evidence of the ongoing insecurity affecting several parts of the country despite official claims of improvement.

Renewed Concerns Over Insecurity

Opposition voices and social media commentators have used the incident to question the government’s narrative on security gains, arguing that frequent kidnappings and violent attacks continue to undermine public confidence.

They noted that the abduction highlights the vulnerability of communities and individuals across various regions, where criminal groups and armed gangs continue to operate with relative impunity.

The case has also reignited debate over the gap between political statements and lived realities, particularly in areas affected by terrorism, banditry, and kidnapping-for-ransom operations.
