Anybody Who Refuse To Shoot Bandit In The Name Of Waiting For Order, We’ll Treat Them Like Bandit -Musa
Honourable Minister of Defence, Retired General Christopher Musa, has issued a strong warning to Nigerian soldiers, declaring that any personnel who refuse to engage bandits or terrorists during operations on the grounds of waiting for orders would be treated as collaborators with criminal elements.
Speaking during an interview on Channels Television, on Wednesday, 8 July, 2026, Musa said troops deployed to combat insecurity must act decisively whenever they encounter terrorists or bandits. He stressed that the military would no longer tolerate hesitation from soldiers whose duty is to protect lives, defend communities and safeguard Nigeria’s territorial integrity.
According to the minister, “Anybody who refuses to shoot or kill any bandit or terrorists in the name of waiting for an order, we will treat you like a bandit.” He said the warning reflects the government’s determination to strengthen the fight against terrorism and banditry while ensuring that security personnel carry out their responsibilities without unnecessary delay.
Musa noted that soldiers are expected to remain professional and courageous in the discharge of their duties, adding that every operational decision should be guided by the objective of defeating armed criminal groups threatening the country’s peace and stability…....
