2027: Sanwo-Olu, Fashola, Ambode, Obanikoro lead APC Lagos Campaign Council
The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has constituted its campaign council for the 2027 general elections, bringing together serving and former political office holders to coordinate the party’s activities in the state.
The composition of the council was made public on Thursday through the Kadri Obafemi Hamzat Media Centre.
Former Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola and his successor, Akinwunmi Ambode, are among the prominent figures named in the party’s advisory structure, alongside incumbent Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Prince Tajudeen Olusi will head the Governance Advisory Council, while Sanwo-Olu will serve as Chairman of the Advisory Council. Fashola and Ambode were appointed Co-Chairmen.
The advisory body also includes the President’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila; Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa; and former Minister of Health, Adeleke Mamora.
Sanwo-Olu will lead the main campaign council as Chairman, with his deputy, Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, serving as Deputy Chairman.
The council lists Ojelabi Cornelius as Vice Chairman I, Obasa as Vice Chairman II and Damilola Sonayon James as Vice Chairman III.
Former Senator Musiliu Obanikoro will serve as Director-General, while Rasaq Ajala takes the position of Deputy Director-General. Adekunle Olayinka is named Campaign Secretary.
The campaign structure also features several directorates and sub-committees responsible for areas such as legal and compliance matters, party and inter-party affairs, administration and logistics, traditional institutions, diaspora engagement and residents’ associations.
The formal inauguration of the campaign council is scheduled to take place on Friday, September 18, at the APC Secretariat on ACME Road, Ikeja.
The party also released a full breakdown of the council, including the various directorates, committees and their designated officials.
