2026 FIBA WWC: D’Tigress name final 12-Player squad

D’Tigress head coach Rena Wakama has officially announced Nigeria’s final 12-player roster for the 2026 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup in Berlin, Germany.

The squad, captained by forward Amy Okonkwo, features a balance of experienced veterans and emerging talent as the reigning African champions prepare for their third appearance at the global tournament, having previously participated in 2006 and 2018.

Guards Ezinne Kalu and Promise Amukamara are set to make national team history as the only players from the current selection who featured in the 2018 edition in Spain, joining Aisha Mohammed as the only Nigerian players to compete in two FIBA Women’s World Cup tournaments.

D’Tigress arrived in Berlin on Wednesday ahead of the competition, which runs from September 4 to 13. Nigeria has been drawn into Group B alongside France, Hungary, and South Korea.

The team will open its group-stage campaign against South Korea at the Berlin Arena on Friday, September 4, before taking on Hungary at the Max-Schmeling-Halle the following day. D’Tigress will conclude group play against France at the Berlin Arena on Monday, September 7.

The final 12-player roster comprises Promise Amukamara, Jordan Obi, Elizabeth Balogun, Murjanatu Musa, Pallas Kunaiyi-Akpanah, Rita Igbokwe, Victoria Macaulay, Ezinne Kalu, Shay Ijiwoye, Nicole Enabosi, Amy Okonkwo, and Grace Efosa.
