Woman Rescued After Allegedly Jumping Into Lagoon From A Bridge (Video)

A woman was rescued by local boat operators after she reportedly jumped into the Lagos Lagoon from the Idumota-Carter Bridge on Tuesday afternoon, August 4.

According to eyewitnesses, the woman allegedly attempted to take her own life before nearby boat operators quickly responded and pulled her from the water.

A video circulating on social media shows the woman sitting inside a rescue boat shortly after she was brought out of the lagoon. She appeared visibly disoriented as those around her tried to comfort her.

The footage also captured concerned onlookers gathered on the bridge, with several voices pleading with the boat operator not to hand the woman over to the police.

Others could be heard expressing concern about her condition and wondering what might have led her to jump into the lagoon.

The incident has sparked conversations online, with many commending the swift response of the boat operators whose actions helped save the woman’s life.
