“Why are you following me? You’ve been following me for 30 minutes” — Lady confronts man who allegedly followed her while returning home from a run
A Nigerian lady has recounted how a man allegedly followed her for several minutes while she was returning home from an evening run.
In a video shared online, the lady confronted the man, asking why he had continued following her.
“You’ve been following me for 30 minutes. Why are you following me? Are you m@d? Why are you following me?” she said.
According to her, the incident happened on September 19, 2026, after she went out for an evening run.
She said she was almost home when the man approached her and asked where she was going. After she questioned why he wanted to know, she said he responded by asking if it was a crime to ask.
The lady said she decided not to go directly home and entered different streets while running errands, but noticed the same man following her on multiple occasions.
She said the man appeared confident despite her confronting him and questioned why she was expected to speak politely to him simply because he was a man.
The incident prompted her to speak about women’s safety, saying she had recently discussed how people who go out for runs may face d@ngers on their way home.
She also criticised the idea that women need men to protect them from other men, arguing that women should be allowed to move around freely without being harassed or followed.
The lady said the experience had left her considering carrying p£pper spr@y and a pocket kn!fe for prot£ction.
