Who Is Keyshun Jones? Ex-Chick-fil-A Worker Accused of $80K Mac & Cheese Scam

A former employee of Chick-fil-A in Grapevine, Texas, has been arrested and charged with theft, money laundering and evading arrest after allegedly stealing more than $80,000 from the business, according to police. The Grapevine Police Department said the restaurant’s owner reported the theft in November 2025, prompting an investigation.

Officers reviewed surveillance footage which they say showed the suspect, identified as Keyshun Jones, behind the counter despite no longer being employed there. He had reportedly been dismissed a month before the incident.

Police allege that Jones used the restaurant’s register to carry out a scheme involving hundreds of fraudulent transactions. According to a statement, he “rang up 800 orders of mac and cheese trays, then refunded them to his personal credit cards, resulting in a total of just over $80k”.

Authorities said Jones avoided arrest on several occasions before being detained on 17 April 2026 with the assistance of the Texas Attorney General’s Fugitive Task Force and the Fort Worth Police Department.

He now faces charges of property theft, money laundering and evading arrest. A spokesperson for Chick-fil-A declined to comment on the case, stating that it remains “an active investigation”.

Separately, authorities in New Jersey are investigating a shooting at a Chick-fil-A restaurant earlier in April in which one person died and several others were injured. Officials have said the inquiry is ongoing and further details will be released as they become available.
