What They Did To Yar’Adua, Buhari Is Happening Again – Pat Utomi
Former presidential candidate, Pat Utomi, has asserted that impunity and disregard for decent order have become the nature of the country.
Naija News reports that Utomi made this known in a post via his 𝕏 handle on Sunday.
Utomi said people lied and governed with the names of former Nigerian presidents, Umar Musa Yar’Adua and Muhammadu Buhari, while they were dying, stressing that it is happening again.
While describing the trend as high treason, Utomi stressed that anybody above 70 years of age should not run for political office in Nigeria.
According to him, “Impunity and disregard of decent order have become our way. When Yar’Adua was dying people lied and governed in his name.
“They did the same with Buhari. They are doing so again. This is high treason. This is why I say nobody over 70 should run for office. I am 70 years old.”
Meanwhile, Utomi recently lauded the defection of former presidential candidate, Peter Obi, from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC).
Peter Obi, a few weeks after dumping the ADC, was officially nominated as the NDC’s presidential candidate.
Peter Obi, who was formally handed the party’s flag at the recent convention, also moved to announce former Governor of Kano State and the leader of the Kwankwasiyya movement, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, as his running mate ahead of the 2027 election.
Speaking on the development during an interview on ARISE Television, Utomi asserted that Peter Obi would have been trapped, especially with the outcome of the ADC presidential primaries.
Utomi cited presidential aspirants such as Chibuike Amaechi and Mohammed Hayatu-deen as complaining after the primaries and rejecting the outcome, stressing that it was a pretty smart move on Peter Obi’s part.
