WATCH: Terrifying CCTV Captures Leopard Storming Liquor Store and Attacking Shopkeeper

A dramatic CCTV video has captured the terrifying moment a wild leopard stormed into a liquor store in India’s Rajasthan state and violently attacked a shopkeeper before the animal was eventually trapped inside the premises.

The frightening incident occurred on Monday, July 20, in Todaraisingh, where the five-year-old male leopard reportedly wandered into the town, sending residents into panic.

According to reports, the leopard suddenly entered the liquor store through the entrance and rushed into what appeared to be the stocking area, where 25-year-old shopkeeper, Sanjay Gurjar, was working.

The CCTV footage shows the startled worker desperately trying to escape as the leopard lunged at him. The animal swiped at him with its sharp claws before grabbing onto his shoulders in a fierce attack. During the struggle, terrified screams could be heard from people outside the shop as they watched the horrifying encounter unfold.

Despite suffering injuries, Gurjar managed to push the leopard away. Thinking quickly, he rushed toward the store’s entrance and pulled down the metal shutter, trapping the wild animal inside before fleeing to safety.

Speaking after the incident, Gurjar recalled the terrifying ordeal.

“I somehow pushed the leopard away and ran towards the exit. As I ran, I pulled the shutter down. Then I lost consciousness,” he said.

After the shopkeeper escaped, the trapped leopard was seen pacing around the store, moving beneath shelves and knocking over bottles as it searched for a way out.

Another CCTV clip from the area reportedly showed the same leopard attacking a 40-year-old man identified as Fateh Lal Koli shortly before it entered the liquor store. Authorities also confirmed that a volunteer forest worker was injured after the animal attacked him while roaming through the town earlier that morning.

Wildlife officials responded to the emergency and launched a search operation to safely capture the leopard. After several hours of tracking the animal, specialists successfully tranquilized it at about 2 p.m., bringing the tense situation to an end.

Gurjar sustained injuries to his hand, shoulder and nose during the attack, while the two other victims also suffered injuries. However, authorities have not disclosed the full extent of their conditions.

The incident has renewed concerns about increasing encounters between humans and wild animals in parts of India, where expanding settlements and habitat loss have contributed to more wildlife straying into populated areas.

The rescued leopard has since been taken into the custody of wildlife authorities, who are expected to assess its condition before deciding on its relocation.
