Dolly Parton’s loss continues to be felt across the entertainment industry.

The beloved country music icon passed away at 80 in Nashville, Tennessee, after a secret battle with cancer, a year after losing her husband, Carl Dean.

While several stars continue to pay tribute to Parton and recall fond memories of her, actor Vin Diesel decided to do something a little out of the box.

Taking to Instagram, the “Fast and Furious” actor couldn’t find the words to honor Parton’s legacy. Instead, he sang it, giving his rendition of her hit song, “I Will Always Love You.”

In the background of a black-and-white photo of the late country star, a sonorous recording of Diesel singing the heartfelt lyrics with a surprising smoothness played.  

Proving to be quite the singer, the actor harmonized beautifully as the guitar and keyboard played acoustically. Diesel’s passion was vibrantly felt as he devotedly sang about his love for Parton before signing off the video, “love you.”

The lovely tribute has since gone viral, garnering about 200K likes and thousands of comments from impressed fans.

“Dolly Parton got Vin Diesel singing, and it’s a damn serious tribute. I don’t think I quite understood her impact,” one emotional fan tweeted.

A similar comment read, “The grief is real, man. She was a shining human being.” A third user described Diesel’s performance as the “most honest and vulnerable thing,” while another noted Parton would be super proud.

Singer Kesha also gave a memorable tribute to the “Coat of Many Colors” singer. 

Hours after the news of her death was confirmed, Kesha took to the stage at the Pavilion at Star Lake Venue during her Pittsburgh stop.

As reported by The Blast, the artist performed Parton’s 1980 song “Old Flames Can’t Hold a Candle to You,” which held a sentimental meaning, to an emotional audience. It happens that Kesha’s mom, Pebe Serber, co-wrote the tune with the country singer in 1978.

Moved by the connection, the “TikTok” singer recalled working with Parton as she told fans, “So, in honor of her incredible legacy and a beautiful life, I’d like to sing the song that my mom wrote for her.”

More details have since come to light about the circumstances surrounding Parton’s death. Her nephew, also her head of security, first shared the news and said his aunt had given him the responsibility years ago.

Afterward, a rep for the country artist confirmed that she took her final breath in Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where she had been admitted days ago.

The “9 to 5” singer was dealing with autoimmune and kidney issues as a result of cancer. 

“After bravely facing a brief battle with cancer, Dolly departed her Earthly life today at the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center surrounded by loved ones,” the statement read, per The Blast.

Although the type of cancer wasn’t disclosed, Parton’s legacy of generosity and hope, especially through her Imagination Library, was championed.

The Singer Left Fans With One Final Gift

Although fans are devastated to say goodbye to the beloved music icon, she didn’t leave them alone. Parton made sure her music will keep giving long after she is gone. 

As reported by The Blast, the award-winning singer recorded a secret song before dying. However, it has been kept secret and physically locked away at her DreamMore Resort in Tennessee, with instructions not to release it until her 100th birthday.

That means fans will have to wait two more decades to hear new Dolly Parton music, but it will be totally worth it.
