Venomous Snake Visits Wildlife Sunyani Office — See What The Workers Did 

Officials at the Wildlife Division’s Sunyani Regional Office have safely captured a Spotted Night Adder discovered within their premises, choosing to release the snake back into the wild rather than kill it, a decision reflecting the agency’s commitment to conservation even in situations involving potentially venomous wildlife.

The snake was reportedly found on the grounds of the regional office, prompting trained personnel to step in and carefully handle the situation using proper capture equipment rather than resorting to the more common, and often fatal, response many people default to when encountering snakes near human spaces.

A video from the capture show officials securing the reptile into a specially designed snake bag before transporting it away for release into a more suitable natural habitat, away from human activity and potential harm to both the snake and the public.

Spotted Night Adders, while venomous, are generally regarded as less dangerous compared to some of Ghana’s other snake species, though officials still exercise caution during any capture given the unpredictable nature of wild snakes when startled or cornered.
