Miriam Adelson and her family hold a net worth of around $36.4 billion according to Forbes, placing them at number 57 on its billionaires list. Her late husband Sheldon, who died in 2021, built much of that fortune as the CEO and chairman of casino company Las Vegas Sands. Together, the Adelsons have donated hundreds of millions of dollars to pro-Israel organisations and causes over the decades, including Birthright Israel, Friends of the Israel Defense Forces and the Maccabee Task Force.
