Trump says Kimmel should be fired over shooting joke
The US attorney for the District of Columbia, Jeanine Pirro, has flagged that Allen is likely to face additional charges over the gala shooting.
So far, he’s facing charges of attempting to assassinate the US president, and then comparatively trifling offences of transporting a gun and ammo across state lines with intent to commit a felony, and firing a gun during a violent crime.
“There will be additional charges as this investigation continues to unfold,” Pirro said early this morning Australia time.
“But make no mistake, this was an attempted assassination of the president of the United States, with the defendant making clear what his intent was, and that intent was to bring down as many of the high-ranking Cabinet officials as he could.”
