Trump rejects Iran’s ‘totally unacceptable’ peace proposal, says ceasefire deal on ‘life support’, claims he has ‘best plan ever’ to…

US President Donald Trump has warned that the ceasefire deal with Iran is on “life support” as he rejected Tehran’s proposal for ending the West Asia conflict as “totally unacceptable”, while asserting that he has the “best plan ever” to deal with the Islamic Republic.

Why Trump rejected Iran’s proposal?

Defending his decision to reject Iran’s latest peace proposal, Trump asserted that Tehran perpetrated “unacceptable” violence against its own citizens and said the US will not allow the Islamic Republic to obtain nuclear capabilities.

Trump claimed he has the “the best plan ever” to end the Iran war, while calling the Iranian proposal as “simply unacceptable” and a “piece of garbage”. “I have a plan– you know, it’s a very simple plan, I don’t know why you don’t say it like it is, Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon,” Trump was quoted as saying by CNN.

“So, we’re not going to let them– that’s the plan. You know, people say, what’s the plan? The plan is very simple. The blockade first of all, was a part of military genius,” he said, while reiterating his claim that “Iran has been defeated militarily; totally. They have a little left they probably built up during this period of time”.

“They think that I’ll get tired of this or I’ll get bored, or I’ll have some pressure, but there’s no pressure, there’s no pressure at all. We’re going to have a complete victory,” he added.

Trump says ceasefire on ‘life support’

Meanwhile, Trump also warned that ceasefire between the United States and Iran is on “massive life support”, even as Tehran rejected the latest US proposal as amounting to surrender and instead maintained its demands of “war reparations by the US, full Iranian sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz, an end to sanctions, and the release of seized Iranian assets,” as per Iranian state media.

According to a Reuters report, Iran’s counter proposal called for an end to the US naval blockade and lifting of restrictions on Iranian oil sales. Iran’s semi-official Tasnim news agency said Tehran further demanded guarantees that no additional attacks would take place.

Earlier, Trump had accused Tehran of using delaying tactics, before he rejected the Iranian proposal. ““I have just read the response from Iran’s so-called ‘Representatives.’ I don’t like it — TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!,” he said in a Truth Social post.
