"Trump Has Been Briefed On Tinubu’s Alleged Files On Heroine Trafficking, $460,000 Forfeiture"
Mr. Paul Ibe, an aide to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has claimed that United States President Donald Trump has been made aware of historical U.S. court documents relating to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Ibe made the claim in a post on his X account on Wednesday, alleging that a 60-page U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) file concerning allegations investigated in the late 1980s and early 1990s, including the forfeiture of $460,000, had been brought to Trump’s attention through a U.S. lobbying firm, Von Batten-Montague-York.
According to him, Nigerians deserve to know the full details surrounding the matter.
“Finally, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s @officialABAT 60-page DOJ files on heroin trafficking and forfeiture of $460,000 has been brought to the attention of @realDonaldTrump courtesy of a US lobbyist firm, @batten_von.
“Manuel Noriega on my mind. Nigerians deserve to know the whole truth and nothing but the truth. The best is being saved for last,” Ibe wrote.
However, Ibe did not provide evidence to substantiate his claim that President Trump had personally been briefed on the documents or indicate that the U.S. president had taken any action regarding the matter.
The lobbying firm, Von Batten-Montague-York, had earlier disclosed that it was circulating historical DOJ records relating to Tinubu’s 1993 civil forfeiture case to officials within the Trump administration and members of the U.S. Congress as part of its lobbying activities.
The case involved a civil forfeiture proceeding
