Toyin Abraham rejects inclusion in Lagos APC campaign council, says she is staying out of politics

Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham has denied being part of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Lagos State Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 elections.

The actress made the clarification in an Instagram Story on Thursday, September 17, asking the public to disregard reports listing her as a member of the council’s Entertainment and Creative Economy Directorate.

“I’m not a member of any campaign council. I have said it recently. I am staying out of politics. Please disregard the supposed inclusion of my name in any campaign committee,” she wrote.

Her name appeared alongside those of other entertainers, including actors Jide Kosoko, Eniola Badmus and Bimbo Akintola, as well as Fuji musicians Pasuma, Obesere and Adewale Ayuba.

The campaign council was unveiled on Thursday by the Kadri Obafemi Hamzat Media Centre, with its formal inauguration scheduled for Friday, September 18, at the APC Secretariat on ACME Road, Ikeja.

Toke Benson-Awoyinka was listed as Director of the Entertainment and Creative Economy Directorate, while Kosoko was named Co-Director and Badmus Deputy Director.

Other entertainers listed on the council include Adebayo Salami, Saheed Balogun, Bukky Wright, Fathia Balogun, Yinka Quadri, Tayo Sobola and Small Doctor.
