Top Gun: Maverick actor James Handy’s cause of death revealed

The cause of death of Top Gun: Maverick actor, James Handy, has been revealed by the Los Angeles Medical Examiner.

According to the medical examiner, the 81-year-old actor died from a stab wound to the torso and neck compression.

Handy was reportedly attacked with a knife inside his Los Angeles home on June 3.

Authorities said the suspect in the attack was Michael Gledhill, the son of Handy’s girlfriend.

Police later found Handy seriously wounded in his front yard.

He was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Gledhill reportedly left the scene after the attack but was later arrested by police.

The Los Angeles District Attorney, Nathan Hochman, has charged Gledhill with one count of murder.

Prosecutors also added a special allegation that he personally used a deadly weapon, identified as a knife.

Handy was known for his roles in several film and television productions, including *Top Gun: Maverick* and *Arachnophobia*.
